Mike Tyson had a quote that resonated with me in preparedness.
“Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face.”
As a business owner, are you reacting to your technology or deploying it? Do you use technology as a tool that needs to be sharpened from time to time? How do you know when to do so?
My .02
A thriving business depends on the people it comprises. Your product, your services, your value, all of it hinges on your people’s ability to serve. What would your staff say about their preparedness to serve?
- Communication — How do you share information within your company? New policies, new products, changes and service opportunities? Is this communication tracked? How do you preserve the time spent meeting with actionable tasks?
- Security — If your business accepts information of any kind, that data is of value to someone. How do you ensure your data is private? What would you have to do to reclaim it if it went missing? Do your customers know their data is safe? What precautions do you have in place?
- Resiliency — We look at computers as the modern-day cash register. They keep track of your business and provide you with a vehicle to execute against your strategy. What happens when one of your producers has a computer problem? How long can you afford for them to be without one? How long does it take to remedy? Does it affect the entire organization?
- Scale — Your investment should always build towards something. Your platform should grow with you. Your technology should not require a ground-shifting change every 6th months. How does your current system support you? Does the vendor update frequently? Do they ask for your input on major changes? Do they inform you of what’s to come? Do they have your best interests in mind?
These are the 4 swords of Business Technology. Without them, we become the prisoner of Events. As the Offensive Coordinators of your team, we take these measures into consideration when making technology recommendations. Each solution should be in line with the goals of the organization and always put your customers needs in front.
Why all of this consideration? What if you know what you want?

The technological divide between home and business has never been wider. As the IoT (Internet of Things) — (Or Podcast) becomes a tie between the two, the security of your network and business at large, is our number one concern.
Network security in 2017 is still the responsibility of the end-user. Tech manufactures are still not responsible for damages caused by their security holes. They do offer periodic patching for known issues, but the application of those software patches are on the end-user to apply.
Fit and Finish are important to CodeBlue. We have always taken great care in making technology recommendations for our customers, gratis. We offer that specialty against the experiences we’ve encountered with your industry and interests in mind.
We review new technology daily and comprehensively. As the landscape becomes more and more saturated, we follow the manufactures of the tech and dig on their road map. What problem they’re solving, what their long-term strategy is, support and service, every question you’d ask of your IT services company.
All of these questions are to get at what you’re after:
Is this saving me or serving me?
